About Access eGovernment Programs

Access eGovernment workshops (link to workshop descriptions) help you understand how to expand the delivery of information and services your government provides via the Internet. The program helps local governments develop information-rich, full-service eGovernment Web sites.

Access eGovernment helps local officials know what to ask and what to tell the people who are coding their eGovernment web site. It does not teach participants how to code the web site. This program provides local officials with the knowledge they need to design (or redesign) an eGovernment web site without being an html expert.

Program components include

  • How other governments are using eGovernment web sites

  • Developing an eGovernment implementation plan

  • eGovernment Web site implementation and testing and content maintenance

  • eGovernment design for citizens, business owners, employees and visitors.

  • eGovernment sourcing options

Over 50 Penn State Cooperative Extension Staff across the state are prepared to deliver the Access eGovernment programs. Access eGovernment programs are available in every Pennsylvania County. Contact the Cooperative Extension office in your county to set up an Access eGovernment program or email egov.cas.psu.edu to find out how to schedule a workshop.

The Access eGovernment curriculum was created by the University of Minnesota Extension Service, and is made available in Pennsylvania through a partnership of Penn State Cooperative Extension and the University of Minnesota. For questions or comments contact egov@cas.psu.edu
